ELDERFLOWER SYRUP
Recipe author: Malin Seijboldt
Take the opportunity to make your own elderberry juice from elderflowers that are in full bloom now during the summer months. Refreshing and sweet at the same time. This recipe is made with our sugar substitute Use like sugar and is therefore completely sugar-free juice!
INGREDIENTS
- 4 dl Use likesugar
- 1 liter of water
- 1 chromium ascorbic acid
- 20 large bunches of elderflowers
- 1 lemon
METHOD:
Bring water and Use like sugar to the boil in a large saucepan. Stir to dissolve everything. While the water is boiling, clean and rinse the flower clusters. Shake them off and place them in a large bowl or saucepan. Rinse and slice the lemon and add it to the elderflowers. Add ascorbic acid to the boiled sugar water. Leave to cool. Put a lid on the juice. Leave the elderberry juice to steep for two days in a cool temperature. Then strain the pork juice and pour it into bottles. A tip is to pour the juice into bags with ice cube molds. This way you can keep the juice longer and get cold juice at the same time!
